Lookie lookie!!! I finally have a day to update this!!! ^_^
Alright so the last time I wrote I was working on my Condesce cosplay for A-kon 25. Well I made it to A-kon 25 with a group of friends and my cosplay was a success. The Homestuck fans that saw me were super excited and gave me lots of compliments. I also took my Summoner Yuna cosplay as a back up and I wore that for a day and got plenty of compliments on that as well. Now the only thing I have to say I was disappointed about with my Condesce cosplay was that apparently I am too nice. The Condesce is meant to be the Queen Beach who does whatever she pleases. (And yes I spelled that right). Well I ran into some Homestuck fans, who I must note are mainly young teens at A- kon, who came at me expecting me to have Gushers. (Spoilers: The Condesce's alias is Betty Crocker and that company makes Gushers. ) When I told them I didn't they called me worthless and walked off...Some other fans were then expecting me to go Queen B on them but... One I have never had a negative situation at A-kon that was caused by the other con goers so I was slightly surprised at the rudeness. Second as I said before I found I was too nice to "put them in their place". I had never had this happen at a convention before so I subconsciously went to how I as myself would have reacted, a scoff, a shrug, and let it go and move on, which is definitely not how the Condesce would have handled it. So while I love the Condesce's character, I won't be wearing her cosplay again until I fix some things that made wearing it super uncomfortable, and my friend's make their E%ecutioner and Grand Highblood cosplays to back me up.
I have uploaded some work log progress pictures I took and the few pictures I got of the Condesce while at A-kon 25. They aren't much but I hope they still somewhat entertaining. I also made a few work log videos while I made the Condesce horns. However, going full time to college, working part time and trying to make a completely from scratch cosplay with videos that need editing and rendering was just too much to handle for me. So I apologize for there not being any more videos after a certain point. If anyone has any questions on the cosplay though please feel free to ask. ^_^ And I also apologize for the lateness of this update. School was hectic, A-kon was insane, and this summer has been non-stop, but things should be getting back to normal soon. School will be starting in a month and I am looking forward to it surprisingly. I have also been trying to figure out what to work on this year in terms of cosplay. I have some ideas for a new cosplay but I have also thought it might be time to update and improve the cosplays I have at present. I would also love to hear if anyone has any suggestions on a cosplay I should try or a cosplay they would like seen done. I'm always open to new ideas. ^_^
Overall this year was a great learning experience for me in the cosplay world and I have experienced much. I now know myself better, my limits at how much I can handle on my own, and I learned a lot from trial and error while making that cosplay. So despite all the trouble it was and the slight disappointment at the convention I am glad I chose to make the Condesce Cosplay and am looking forward to my next adventure.
"Hobey ho!!! Let's go!!!" ~ Ithera out!!! ^_^
